Microformats Acid test

Acid tests are all the rage of late, so why not one more? Don’t worry, it’s not a test of your microformats know-how, rather, it’s a devilishly tricky test for microformats parsers. Dmitry Baranovskiy put it together to help him develop Optimus, and now is throwing it open to all. So, if you need to push your parser hard, or want to test out the various parsers “on the market”, give it a look.

An acid test is not very useful without showing what the correct results are supposed to look like or providing some sort of automated checking.

The problem with microformats “on the edge” is that a lot of those behaviors are simply undefined as I’ve learned from discussing them with the microformats folk.

I wish we were all working together better as a community so we could all do the right thing.

Note that the code in Firefox 3 is pretty much baked - I sure wish someone would have been communicating about these tests.

(And if they were on the mf dev list, I’m sorry, but I haven’t been getting those emails for months and noone in the mf community seems to care about fixing my problem)

    Michael,

I believe the test is quite recent. It has been discussed a little on the mailing list, and I believe that Brian Suda may now be involved with its development - and I am sure your involvement would be welcomed.

If you need contact details for Dmitry, drop me a line.

    Thanks
